To what extent did the US naval blockade prevent Iran's energy exports?

Ambassador Arjan: While the US is talking about the naval blockade of Iran, new data informs of movements that can challenge the official narrative of Washington; But what is going on behind this story?

Analysis by the American group "Alliance Against Nuclear Iran" (UANI), which uses ship and satellite tracking to monitor the passage of oil tankers linked to Iran, announced that at least eight gas tankers carrying Iranian liquefied natural gas have left the Gulf of Oman since mid-July.

Satellite images and further analysis by the SynMax Marine Intelligence Group also indicate that another tanker carrying Iranian jet fuel arrived in Myanmar in September, which is also under US sanctions.

However, in order to cover up the failures and influence the energy market, the Central Command of the US Army (CENTCOM) claims that the naval blockade against Iran, which was first imposed on April 13 (April 24), is "inviolable". The blockade was lifted in June after the United States and Iran reached a draft memorandum in Islamabad, but it was reimposed on July 14 after its collapse.

A U.S. military official struggled to downplay the failure to implement the sanctions, telling Reuters that the passage of a ship does not necessarily mean bypassing the blockade. He added that each ship is evaluated individually and after checking its documents, and some are allowed to pass for humanitarian reasons.

A spokesman for the US Treasury also questioned shipping data, saying ships could falsify their location or use fake identities when loading.

Such data "should be taken with some skepticism," the spokesman added.

Contrary to the claims of the American authorities and the Centcom organization, who always boast about the success of Iran's maritime blockade with the aim of reducing the price of energy in the world markets and making gains, satellite images and data published by various institutions invalidate these claims.
