A tax evasion attempt was collected in Qom; The necessity of clarifying the spending of taxes

Qom-More than one tax evasion attempt has been identified and collected in Qom, the resources that, along with the tax revenues of other sectors, by clarifying the place of spending, can strengthen public trust and realize tax justice.

Arjan Ambassador of the Provinces Group - Mehdi Bakshi Soraki: Tax is one of the most important means of providing financial resources of the government for running the affairs of the country, developing infrastructure and providing public services, a resource that if properly collected and spent in the direction of the real needs of the society, can play a decisive role in economic progress, the spread of social justice and the improvement of the quality of life of citizens.

However, the importance of the tax system is not only limited to the amount of collected income, but how to calculate the tax, how to distribute resources, transparency in spending and the level of people's trust in the performance of the responsible institutions are also considered to be the essential elements of the efficiency of this system.

In the meantime, the relationship between the people and the tax system is not a one-way relationship that is defined only by the government's demand for tax payment and the taxpayers' fulfillment of legal obligations, but this relationship reaches a stable and effective level when, along with the strict implementation of laws, there is mutual trust, clear accountability, and the possibility of observing the effects of tax payments.

It is natural for a citizen who pays part of his income as a tax to want to know where the resources from this payment go, what share is allocated to the development of urban and rural services, and what effect it has on the improvement of educational, health, medical and civil infrastructures.

Taxes turn from a legal duty into a conscious participation in the administration of society when people can clearly understand the link between their payments and public services. Construction and completion of schools, development of medical centers, improvement of roads, expansion of water and sewage networks, and implementation of construction projects are among the areas whose financing can be related to public revenues, and from this point of view, detailed information about the amount of resources collected, how they are allocated, and the results of Paying taxes is not a ceremonial act, but a necessity to strengthen social capital and increase public trust.

The development of smart systems and the move towards electronic registration of economic information is one of the requirements of modern tax management and dealing with violations, but the effectiveness of these tools is realized when their use is possible for all groups involved, especially small and traditional businesses.

A small shopkeeper cannot be expected to have the same technical facilities, manpower and specialized knowledge as a large economic enterprise, and therefore, simplifying processes, continuous training, answering taxpayers' questions and providing easy access to consulting services, along with strict monitoring of law enforcement, are among the necessities of realizing tax justice.

On the other side of this equation, dealing with tax evasion and preventing the imposition of a disproportionate burden on the shoulders of law-abiding taxpayers is particularly important. Tax justice becomes meaningful when all individuals and companies involved pay their share in providing public expenses in accordance with economic activity and according to legal regulations, and no group is immune from its legal responsibilities due to weak supervision or concealment of economic activities, and transparency in this area helps to support law-abiding businesses and economic actors and provides a more fair distribution of the tax burden.

The reporter of Mehr, with a field presence among the citizens and businesses of Qom, has examined their views, experiences and demands about the way of calculating and paying taxes, the level of awareness of the laws and the need for transparency in the spending of the revenues obtained from it.

The people of Qom want transparency in tax spending and simplifying the payment process

In an interview with a Mehr reporter, one of the citizens of Qommi pointed out the role of transparency in increasing public trust and stated: If people know in which sectors the tax they pay is spent and how the result is returned to the society, they will perform their tax duties with more confidence and desire.

Mehdi Ahmadi added: Information about where tax revenues are spent should be in such a way that citizens can see the effects of their payments in their daily lives and public services, because knowing how to spend these resources can be effective in strengthening people's cooperation.

This citizen stated that he does not consider the existing information to be sufficient for the complete knowledge of the society, and stated: It is necessary to provide more details about the location of tax revenue allocation and the services provided from this location to the people in order to clarify the relationship between paying taxes and benefiting from public services.

Tax calculation should be proportional to business income

In a conversation with a Mehr reporter, one of Qomi's businesses, referring to the need to match the tax with the economic capacity of taxpayers, said: "I personally have not had any particular problem with the amount of tax paid, but there are complaints among some economic activists about the amount of tax and how it is calculated, which is partly due to the economic conditions and the increase in the costs of trade activities."

Akbar Memarian added: In order to accurately assess the amount of tax, it is necessary to take into account the actual conditions of business activity and the costs faced by business owners so that the tax payment is appropriate to the economic status of each taxpayer.

Referring to the problems of some small trade units in doing electronic tasks, this businessman said: Many small shopkeepers do not have the financial ability to hire a separate force to do tax audits, and the complexity of the processes of recording information and uploading documents can be difficult and expensive for them.

He continued: When doing tax matters depends on technical and time-consuming processes, businesses that do not have enough facilities and manpower will face more problems, and it is necessary to provide simpler and more accessible solutions to reduce these difficulties.

Schools should be one of the priorities for tax spending

Zahra Hosseini, another citizen of Qommi, in a conversation with Mehr reporter, said about her desired priorities for spending tax revenues: allocating part of these resources to the construction and equipping of schools can be beneficial for the general public, because education is one of the basic needs of society and its effects will be visible in the lives of future generations.

He added: People establish a clearer connection between paying taxes and public benefits when they know what projects the collected resources are spent on and what services are provided to the community.

Emphasizing the importance of public information, this citizen noted: introducing projects financed from tax revenues can help increase people's awareness about the function of taxes and strengthen their participation in paying them on time.

Tax education should be continuous and practical

Another citizen of Qomi, in a conversation with Mehr's reporter, pointed to the level of public awareness of tax laws and stated: Advertisements and media information in this field have helped to increase people's knowledge to some extent, but this level of awareness is not enough to be fully familiar with the regulations and procedures for conducting tax affairs.

Ali Emadi added: The tax affairs department can explain the tax calculation and payment procedures in simple language to the people by holding continuous educational programs in the media, especially radio and television, so that citizens and business owners can do their homework with more knowledge.

Stating that familiarization with the details of tax laws is important to avoid taxpayers' confusion, this citizen clarified: providing clear and practical training can lead to reducing ambiguities and making people more familiar with their tax rights and responsibilities.

Ambiguity in tax reporting should be resolved

Another citizen, in a conversation with the Mehr reporter, criticized what he considered to be the inconsistency between information and the implementation of some tax regulations, and said: In some cases, the information provided about the amount or method of tax calculation is different from what people face in practice, and this issue causes confusion and doubt among taxpayers.

Seyed Reza Anjam Shua added: The lack of clarity about the details of tax percentages, how to calculate and the criteria for determining the final amount can make it difficult for people to do tax affairs, and it is necessary to explain these things in a clear language with practical examples.

This citizen emphasized: Transparency in information, answering people's questions and explaining the steps of calculating and paying taxes in detail can help to reduce the differences in perceptions and provide a basis for better interaction between taxpayers and the tax system.

The views expressed by the citizens and the Qommi business show that transparency in the spending of tax revenues, the appropriateness of the tax amount with the actual conditions of economic activity, the facilitation of electronic processes and continuous training of laws are among the issues that are important in people's daily experience of the tax system.

Based on this, the Mehr reporter sat down with the words of the Director General of Tax Affairs of Qom province and examined the various aspects of the collection of tax revenues, dealing with tax evasion, facilitation of electronic services, refund of value added tax and the participation of taxpayers in determining where resources are spent.

More than one tax evasion attempt was detected and collected in Qom

The Director General of Tax Affairs of Qom Province stated that combating tax evasion should be followed along with supporting small businesses, and stated: The goal is to effectively deal with people who refuse to pay legal taxes while reducing the pressure on small economic operators.

Tax revenues are allocated to construction projects
