Zakeri: Roudan needs Ministry of Energy support to develop greenhouses

Roudan – Head of Roudan Agricultural Jihad, pointing to the county's 2% share of global lime production, called on the Ministry of Energy to consider the region's climatic conditions in adjusting water permits and expanding greenhouse cultivation.

Rodan - Referring to the 2% share of this county in the global production of limes, the head of the Rodan Agricultural Jihad requested the Ministry of Energy to pay attention to the climatic conditions of the region in adjusting the water flow rates and developing greenhouse cultivation.

According to Mehr reporter, Iraj Zakari said on Thursday evening at the national lime and date festival: Rodan city has a high capacity in the production of agricultural products, including greenhouse products and citrus fruits, due to the suitable climate and variety of crops.

He added: types of limes, sweet limes, limes, as well as types of oranges, including Valencia oranges, Shab-Eid oranges, Marseille oranges, and local oranges, are grown in Rodan region.

Referring to the production capacity of greenhouse products in this city, the head of Rodan Agricultural Jihad said: Fortunately, Rodan ranks first in the province in terms of the cultivated area of greenhouse products, and the export of these products is also done well, most of which is reserved for Russian countries.

Referring to the position of Rodan in lime production, Zakari stated: Currently, 2% of the world's limes are supplied in Rodan city, and for this reason, this city is known as the country's lime pole.

Emphasizing the need to pay attention to the agricultural capacities of Rodan, he asked some ministries and officials to provide the necessary conditions for the continuation of the activities of farmers and the development of agricultural crops, taking into account climate changes.

The head of Rodan Agricultural Jihad also pointed to the low consumption of water in greenhouse cultivation and said: To achieve the goal foreseen in the seventh development plan of the country, it is necessary to achieve the level of 1000 hectares of greenhouse cultivation in Rodan, and the realization of this goal requires the cooperation and support of the authorities.

In the end, Zakari asked the Ministry of Energy to consider the conditions of the region, the agricultural capacities of the city and climate changes in the issue of adjusting water exploitation licenses and implementing the law on fair distribution of water in order to provide the basis for the development of agricultural activities and increase the area under crops.
