Meta has unveiled a new model that the company says is the "most powerful" AI model with open weights in the US. This model, called Muse Spark Open, is also distinctive in that it was developed exclusively for Apple Mac devices.

Based on the evaluation results published by Meta, the company's new model provides better performance than other popular models with open weights by using 816 billion parameters and a text window of one million tokens. Muse Spark Open natively supports multimodal input and is designed for complex programming tasks and automated AI-based activities.

This model is also developed to run locally on Apple computers. However, you still need powerful hardware to run it, and at least one terabyte of memory is necessary to run it. This model will provide its best performance on a Mac Studio equipped with the M5 Ultra chip.
