HAMEDAN – Hamedan's top students, who ranked first and seventh nationally in the 1405 nationwide exam for the experimental sciences track, share their experiences on the path to conquering the summits of the university entrance exam.
Ambassador Arjan of the Provinces Group: Success in the national exam for many students is considered a turning point in their educational and career path, but the breathtaking competition of the experimental national entrance exam once again brought pride to the students of Diyar Elvand. Where the name of "Arash Mohammadi" shone at the top of the country's elites as the first rank and the name of his friend and ambassador of Arjan "Ali Hamzaei" shone at the seventh rank.
This year's top ranks were not captured by the commercial slogans of educational institutions, nor did they put fun and life at the expense of studying, but with realistic planning, focusing on the final exams and step-by-step performance improvement, they conquered the peak of the experimental exam.
Arash Mohammadi, born in 1387 and a student of Allameh Hali High School in Hamedan, with a rank of 1 in experimental science group, and Ali Hamzaei, born in October of 1386 and a student of the same school, with a rank of 7 in the country in the experimental entrance exam, are the 2 successful faces of this course of the national exam.
These 2 students, who have been friends for many years in addition to being classmates, were honored at Hamedan University of Medical Sciences after achieving this success.
Arash Mohammadi, ranked 1st in the 1405 experimental exam, in an interview with Mehr reporter about his goals in high school years, said: When I was in the 10th grade, my goal was to get accepted into the medical field, and the location of the university did not matter to me, but in the 11th year, after examining the results of the exams and my level, my goal was to get accepted in Tehran.
He continued: In the twelfth year, considering my own performance and the level of other students, I set the goal of single-digit national ranking for myself.
This elite Hamadani student stated that ranking first was not my definite goal from the beginning, and added: I never seriously thought about ranking first, but I always wanted to be the best, but from some point on, I realized that there was a gap between the mindset I have about my ability and my performance, so instead of thinking only about the goal, I decided to strengthen my performance and bring it to a level where I can reach a single-digit ranking.
Regarding the choice of field and university, Mohammadi continued: At the moment, his main goal is to enter the field of medicine, and I have not made a definite decision on choosing a specialty.
Regarding how to manage time between lessons, rest and non-curricular activities, he said: I went to school in the 10th to 12th years and after returning home, I usually studied for 4 to 6 hours, and if we include studying at school, my total studying time reached 12 to 14 hours on some days and sometimes even 15 hours.
I never gave up fun completely
The 1st place in the 1405 experimental entrance examination stated that I never gave up fun completely and said: I always kept fun and this matter helped me a lot, cycling was one of my hobbies and even some days I used to ride a bike twice but not in a way that caused much fatigue and on the weekends I also set aside time to rest and meet friends.
Mohammadi further mentioned his skill in testing and the speed of action and stating that one of the important factors of success is continuous practice and taking tests, adding: Sometimes I used to solve and analyze several tests in a day.
He emphasized: The focus should be on testing and especially taking tests, and just having a few test books and solving a large number of questions is not enough, but one should work on different tests in order to learn test management in addition to scientific mastery.
This elite student of Hamadani also emphasizes the importance of the quality of study, adding: the study hour is valuable when it leads to the student's real performance.
He stated that the use of teaching aid resources, classes and tests can be useful, but the student should not be dependent on a specific institution or resource, he continued: You cannot prepare for the entrance exam with only textbooks and test and exam resources are needed, but it is not necessary to get all the resources from one institution, and one resource may be very good for biology and another resource for physics or another subject, and the student should choose a resource based on his needs, and the criteria for choosing advertising resources or the success of an institution in introducing Not the top ranks.
Mohammadi stated that regarding studying in virtual education conditions, virtual conditions definitely had an impact on the learning process, but we had to adapt ourselves to the conditions, and even at the time when commuting was difficult for me and the conditions made me able to focus more on studying at home.
He emphasized: In situations where it is not possible to use online classes or tests, students should be able to self-study part of the learning path by relying on textbooks and appropriate resources.
Mohammadi further emphasized the importance of continuity, real performance and focus on the test and continued: A student should not only think about one number per hour of study or a big goal, but should improve his daily performance gradually.
Success in entrance exam is the result of persistence and recognition of individual abilities
In an interview with Mehr reporter, Ali Hamzaei, who ranked 7th in the 1405 experimental entrance exam, also pointed out the importance of having a specific goal and stated: success in the entrance exam is more than the result of a sudden decision, it is the result of persistence and recognition of individual abilities.
He said about his interest in neurology: I was interested in neurology, but this field is hard and requires a lot of effort, and we have to see how much we are ready to accept this difficulty.
This elite student of Hamadani continued: Choosing a specialized medical field should not only be based on the amount of income and the needs of society should also be taken into consideration.
Regarding studying for the entrance exam, he stated: it is very important to maintain mental balance in the exam year, and the student is not supposed to limit his whole life to studying.
Hamzaei stressed the need to use the resources wisely and added: A student should not repeat the same course without checking his conditions just because a higher rank has used a certain book or test.
There is no single recipe for success
He added to the students regarding avoiding imitation of other people's program and study style: you should personalize the resources for yourself, just because one person got results with a book or a test does not mean that the same source is the best choice for others and you should not say that because someone studied for 10 or 11 hours, I must study for 12 hours and you should find your own suitable method by trial and error.
The 7th rank of the 1405 experience exam continued: If I study for more than 14 hours, my efficiency decreases because my sleep is disturbed and I feel that I am only increasing the number of study hours.
Stating that getting a high score in the final exams has a serious role in the final result of the entrance exam, he added: "After passing the entrance exam, I realized how well I did. I put energy into the final exams and my grade point average increased. My advice to students is not to neglect the final exams and do not think that just taking the test is enough to succeed in the entrance exam, and students should take this part very seriously."
In relation to the question of what is your practical advice to students, he said to know yourself and find your own path, he continued: Don't imitate, personalize the resources and study method for yourself. The fact that one person achieved a result with one method does not mean that you will succeed with exactly the same method.
Arash Mohammadi and Ali Hamzei have known each other for many years; From their school days until now, both of them have been among the top ranks of the national entrance exam and now they are going to start a new path in the university and the field of medicine; A path that may lead to different choices, but its common goal is to transform knowledge and ability to serve the society.
