According to Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon, who currently plays for Xipto eSports, the team's bootcamp in Kuala Lumpur was raided by police on Sunday evening. In a Facebook post Monday night, 23savage described police handcuffing the team and confiscating their belongings.
The officers questioned the players as to why they were in town and whether they were really professional players. According to 23savage, one of the officers was familiar with Dota and wanted to browse his Instagram to prove his professional career.

A photo 23savage recently posted of himself and popular Malaysian influencer Ms. Puiyi was, according to the post, compelling evidence. In fact, enough evidence for police officers to remove his handcuffs and test what really matters: how good he is at defending the old.
23savage started a Dota match right in front of the police officers and got 32 kills as Kez. The Dota player claims that this was enough evidence to convince the officers to let the team go, and that they also stole two jars of Nutella on their way.
Commenters on the post were quick to question 23savage's claims, assuming the post was a joke, but 23savage has actively defended his story in replies. Reddit users continue to cast doubt on the harder player, while others jokingly claim that 23savage's story saved Valve's MOBA.
The incident doesn't seem to have had much of an impact on Xipto, who has been climbing the SEA Dota ranks. The team recently went undefeated in the EPL SEA tournament and went on an impressive 10-match winning streak. The full team roster currently consists of 23savage (Carry), inYourdreaM (Mid), Fbz (Offlane), Q (Support) and Oli (Support) who are now competing for a spot in the DreamLeague Season 30 tournament.
Dota 2 itself has seen significant player growth in 2026 and has recently peaked since 2022. The game continues to receive occasional patches and content updates, although Valve's focus is now more on a new MOBA: Deadlock.
