The CEO of Qasr Shirin Free Zone announced that preparations are being made to import used cars with model year 2022 onwards and announced that the details and conditions of this project will be announced soon.

Ambassador of Arjan-Economic Group: Reza Qobadimehr, the CEO of Qasr-Shirin Commercial-Industrial Free Zone, referring to the trend of new cars entering the Qasr-Shirin Free Zone, stated: So far, more than 600 zero-kilometer vehicles have entered the Qasr-Shirin Free Zone, and we expect this number to reach 1,500 by the end of the year.

The CEO of Qasr Shirin Free Zone Organization pointed to the good reception of the car import plan by the people and added: We hope that with the continuation of this process and the provision of the necessary platforms, we will be able to provide more services to the people.

Qobadi-Mehr also said about the details of the import of used cars: the details, conditions and manner of importing these cars will be informed soon through Qasr Shirin Free Trade Zone Organization.

He continued: "According to the follow-up of Kermanshah governor, we expect that with the cooperation of selected car importing companies, we will soon see the arrival of used cars in Qasr Shirin Free Zone."

According to Ambassador Arjan, citing the public relations of Kermanshah Governorate on Thursday, 23 Mehr, the CEO of Qasrshirin Free Zone Organization noted: Our goal is to support the middle classes and the general public and provide access to standard cars at a more reasonable price so that citizens can use these cars at a lower cost.

The clearance of imported cars, which was stopped since last week, has been resumed and importers have until next Saturday to complete the clearance process; Meanwhile, the possibility of increasing and equalizing the car import tariff is still under investigation.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Car Importers Association announced: About 80,000 foreign cars entered the country out of a total of 200,000 orders registered last year, but no new orders have been registered this year.

While the country is facing serious currency challenges, billions of euros have been spent on car imports, but neither the prices have decreased nor the market has been balanced. With a currency ceiling of two billion euros, increased tariffs and limited imports, this policy has become a factor for increasing prices and making middlemen profitable, rather than benefiting the consumer.
