Andrik is not short / Real's big challenge: the Brazilian diamond wants a chance
Andric is eager to prove his abilities in the Real Madrid squad.
According to "Sports Three", Andrik is used to fighting anything. With expectations, with impatience, with a lack of playing minutes and with the fact that every time it seems to be on the verge of peaking, it threatens to repeat itself. What happened to him last season, when he had to go on loan to Lyon to regain the position he had not achieved at Real.
There he reconnected with football, scoring eight goals and five assists in 21 games and proving that with consistency, his bravado can become a competitive advantage. However, this season, things seemed to be back to back then. Especially until Jose Mourinho came to the Bernabeu. This Brazilian player played only four minutes.
A pre-season muscle injury delayed his start and after his recovery, Andrić still failed to find a place in Mourinho's plans. With Mbappe more in the spotlight and Carlos Espy cementing his place, the Brazilian has once again been mulling a possible exit in January. Strangely, Roma, who came close to signing him in the summer, have re-emerged as an option.
But Mourinho intervened to prevent that from happening and doesn't appear to be about to change his mind. The Portuguese coach stopped his transfer because he knew the Brazilian's potential and wanted to keep him as an attacking option. After his stunning display at the Stadio Olimpico, he was more firm about his future: "It's impossible to send him on loan to another club, I know what he can still offer us." The Brazilian turned an opportunity into a decisive display: he scored a goal every 88 minutes in the Champions League.
Real were trailing 1-3 when the Brazilian came on in the 59th minute. The game needed a reaction and Andric responded with a storm. From the right, the same area he found spaces to exploit during his time at Lyon, he disrupted Real's attack with the pace, penetration and insistence that tore the Roma defense apart, and he turned things around. On Real's second goal, his header caused the goalkeeper to make a save and Espy used it to bring Real closer to victory. Just two minutes later, Andrik jumped into the air again and scored the third goal with a header. He was selected as the best player of the game and left the field with the cheers of his teammates.
The jump is so drastic that it brings back an old question: How much more could Andrić offer if he played more? Because this is the feeling that accompanies this Brazilian player. He plays little, but does a lot. He is 20 years old and still needs to improve the details, make better choices in certain situations and learn how to manage the energy that sometimes seems infinite. But there's one thing that doesn't need improvement: his ability to disrupt games. Andrik is a soccer player who turns two stones into fire by hitting them.
However, the Brazilian is aware of the situation he is in and didn't want to imagine that his situation would change: "I don't know if today's game will change my situation," knowing that the final decision rests with the coach. Without any public demands or criticism but with a performance that speaks for itself and with the door opening for Vinicius in the next four games after his league ban.
That's why, once again, Andrik is fighting everything that seemed to be written about his season, and he's not doing it alone: “I was sitting on the bench talking to God. When I looked around, Nuno called me. I left and was still talking to God because I thought I wasn't going to be in the game very soon. "I entered the game and I was able to do what I love the most, which is to play football."
