Mohajeri: Principlist Hardliners Have No Love for Their Own Extremists

Within the principlist camp, there are no shortage of moderate and reasonable figures, but many of them lack the courage to speak out and are unwilling to bear the cost of stating their positions.

In the fundamentalist movement, the number of people who have moderate and reasonable positions is not small, but many of them do not have the courage to express their opinions and are not willing to pay the expenses of announcing their positions.

Mohammad Mohajeri said: "Some of them make really frank criticisms in internal party meetings and have moderate positions and speak against extremists." Even I personally, when I have personal dialogues with some of these people, they are not associated with these harsh positions at all.

He added: "Unfortunately, they don't have the courage to make an open opinion, which is a serious weakness in some of our friends."

Mohajeri stressed: Part of the fundamentalists who became moderate realized from experience that the extremists did not work in the political, economic, cultural and social system of the country and they faced the realities of Iran and the world today. He said: In my opinion, the majority of people who have new opinions in their positions are people who studied and took time to know the world and abandoned the previous idea that everything should be fanatical. They removed the previous glasses they were wearing and saw the real world and came to the facts.
