Hillary Clinton Admits the Notorious Near-Fainting Segment of the 2016 9/11 Memorial Was a 'Mistake' on Her Part

While discussing the video of the 9/11 memorial ceremony on a recent podcast, Hillary Clinton called her campaign's handling of her pneumonia during the 2016 race a 'mistake.'

Hillary Clinton recounts viral video of her 2016 near-fainting

Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton recalls a video of her almost fainting outside a 9/11 memorial service in 2016.

Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton reviewed a video of herself shaking and nearly fainting after a 9/11 memorial service in 2016, admitting on Wednesday that campaigning while suffering from pneumonia was a "mistake."

In his new joint podcast with Kara Swisher, the former secretary of state spoke about Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico's nine-day absence after he came down with the flu.

His absence from public appearances led to an online rumor falsely claiming he was secretly committed to an Ohio mental health facility, which Clinton and Swisher said were "easily debunked."

Hillary Clinton includes a list of 2016 losses during "tough times" for Democratic voters, including the financial crisis of September 11, 2008.

Clinton compared Talarico's experience to her own after the 2016 video surfaced when she was running for president, arguing that critics were portraying him as "on the brink of death." Swisher said President Donald Trump is "quantum sicker" than Clinton, though "they're hiding it," and called for Clinton to respond.

They tested me and said, "Oh, you've got pneumonia. You need to take five or six days off." I said: I can't do this. And my doctor said, ``Well, that's what you have to do.'' And I thought, 'Well, yeah, that's what I have to do.' But I'm campaigning and I have to show up on 9/11 because, as you know, I was a senator [during the attacks]," Clinton recalled. "So, I went ahead, which was a mistake.

"Nema" challenges Shadi Bahar after Bahar says that Trump's health is less investigated than Biden's in the media.

"They had video of me scrambling to get to the car so I could, you know, take a breather and recover," he added. From my perspective, it worked because it only papered over social media and traditional media. I was dying. I lied about my health. This is from a man who has never given us an honest medical report. Always."

White House press secretary Davis Ingle said Clinton should consider moving on from the 2016 election.

According to a law enforcement source at the time, Clinton was described as "clearly suffering from some sort of medical condition" as she appeared to collapse on her way to a van and call for help from security. Clinton's campaign later released a statement confirming that she was battling pneumonia and was "feeling overheated" at the time.

Hillary Clinton says the events in Minneapolis show the "moral rot at the heart of the Trump Magpie movement."

Clinton and her campaign faced criticism from members of the press for not disclosing her pneumonia diagnosis earlier and handling media investigations at the time.
