EXCLUSIVE: Veep co-creator and executive producer Alex Gregory is developing a new drama series Further Lane, which is in competition at HBO. Gregory will write and executive produce, with T Street Studios and The New Yorker also attached to produce.
The project is the writer-producer's first solo TV series after winning four Emmys and a Golden Globe for co-creating The Studio.
The series is inspired by Emily Witt's original reporting for The New Yorker and takes place over the course of a summer in the Hamptons. Further Lane explores how wealth and ambition affect the relationships between a wealthy family and their household staff. Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman and Nena Rodriguez are executive producers for T-Street, with Allegra Greenland serving as an executive producer. Helen Esterbrook and Lajoie St. George are executive producers for The New Yorker Studios. Emily Witt is the consulting producer.
T-Street is a production company founded by writer/director Johnson and producer Bergman, the duo behind the Knives Out, Looper and Star Wars: The Last Jedi franchises. T-Street's television series include the Emmy Award-winning series Poker Face and the upcoming FX series Disinherited, created by Peter Gould (Better Call Saul), as well as the Emmy-nominated 3 Body Problem and The Hawk. T Street's credits include the Academy Award-winning American Tales, Fair Play, The Only Pickpocket Alive in New York, Turqoise and 2034.
In addition to his contributions to Apple TV Studios and HBO's Veep, Gregory also created the HBO limited series The Plumbers of the White House. He has been picked up by WME.
