Efforts to counter illegal cryptocurrency mining must be pursued with greater vigilance

Zanjan – Zanjan Governor stressed the need to precisely identify the scope of illegal cryptocurrency mining, saying that efforts to confront this issue must be pursued with greater sensitivity and speed.

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan Seyed Mohsen Sadeghi, in a meeting with the manager of monitoring and organizing cryptocurrency extraction of Tovanir company, pointing out the need to deal with organized violations in the field of illegal cryptocurrency mining, he stated: In order to effectively manage this issue, one must first gain a detailed and comprehensive understanding of the dimensions and depth of the problem and follow control measures based on reliable information, evidence and evidence.

Emphasizing the priority of identification and prevention in the face of this phenomenon, he added: In areas where signs and evidence indicate the possibility of illegal activity, it is necessary to carry out targeted investigations and controls, and after completing the identification process, legal action against the offenders is on the agenda.

Pointing to the possibility of unauthorized mining centers operating in places such as Baghshahrs, some factories and villages, Sadeghi emphasized the need to pay attention to these areas in the process of identification and monitoring, and called for close cooperation of the responsible agencies of the province with Tawanir Group and law enforcement, security and intelligence authorities.

The governor of Zanjan also pointed to the electricity imbalance conditions and emphasized the need to accelerate preventive and regulatory measures in this area and said: In this direction, examining the pattern of electricity consumption and identifying unusual cases can be effective in detecting and controlling unauthorized activities.

In the continuation of this meeting, Hadi Sefidmo, the manager of monitoring and organizing cryptocurrency mining of Tovanir company, pointing to the dimensions of this problem in the country, announced the estimate of the number of cryptocurrency mining machines in Iran between 700 and 800 thousand machines.
