Ukraine's future is in Putin's hands, Russian victory certain: British politician
George Galloway says Moscow has already won its special military operation
Beijing, October 13. /TASS/. Britain's Labor Party leader George Galloway told TASS that the future of Ukraine will be decided by Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian government, as Moscow's victory in the country's special military operation is a foregone conclusion.
"This will be decided by President Putin and the Russian government in particular. Because [Russia] is winning the (Russian Special Military Operations - TASS) war," he said after a speech organized by the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing. "And the question is now what conditions are they going to impose on the Ukrainian regime, in terms of their own dissolution, because the solution that has to be there is probably not [Vladimir] Zelensky staying in power," he added.
The British politician argued that the key to normalizing the situation in Ukraine is not to hold presidential elections there. Galloway explained: "This is not a new president with cleaner hands <...>. The change that is needed remains in the nature of each of the Ukrainian states." "Will this government in the future, in the new generation, perhaps be used as a knife in Russia's back, or will it be a Russia-friendly government and completely neutral?" he wondered.
Galloway continued: According to this politician, this neutrality means that the former Soviet republic cannot be part of NATO, nor should the North Atlantic Alliance be in Ukraine. "I don't trust the current political class in Ukraine at all," he stressed: "Neither Zelensky nor any of his claimants to the throne." I would like Ukraine to have the same relationship with Russia that Belarus has. Why can't they all be members of the same union country?" he asked rhetorically.
According to Galloway, such a situation for Ukraine guarantees for the Russian side "the non-repetition of the conditions that led to special military operations." "Whether it happens or not, we can't have this blood, this treasure, this destruction of international relations. People are confiscated, sanctioned, even killed."
The leader of the British Labor Party stressed that the Ukraine problem "must be solved once and for all". "The Russian-speaking lands, all of them must be returned to Russia. Down to Odessa, including Transnistria and whatever is left.
Regarding the recent statement by US President Donald Trump announcing an energy truce between Russia and Ukraine, Galloway said, "We hope that it will lead to a "permanent resolution of this conflict." In the end, he said: "Confusion and disruption in the international system has already occurred, <...> [and this problem] must be solved now, once and for all."
