President Donald Trump called Sophie Cunningham "beautiful" at his Youngstown rally and said the Indiana Tab guard would help boost attendance for any WNBA team.

Sophie Cunningham called the commissioner "brave" amid women's sports debate

WNBA star Sophie Cunningham is calling for a "bold" commissioner for the league as fans rally behind her stance on supporting women's sports. "Faulkner's Focus" details the growing controversy, including a Seattle columnist who resigned over censorship.

Sophie Cunningham yelled at President Donald Trump during a rally in Youngstown, Ohio on Monday night.

Trump said the Indiana Fever star is "beautiful" and "a lot of men [want] to go and watch her."

"But you're not allowed to say that as a politician anymore. Please, please let me take that back. Anytime a politician says a woman is beautiful, that's generally the end of their political career in the world of modern politics," Trump added.

The president then said that Cunningham's addition to a team "will help the presence ...."

Trump said: "Sophie is a beautiful young woman. You probably don't mind if she's on the team, not to help you score points, but to help you show up. It would be great to have her."

Cunningham has been a fan favorite since joining the Fever, as she often came to Kaitlin Clark's defense amid tough fouls on the third-year phenom. But his popularity skyrocketed after he discovered a quote in which he said biological males should not play in girls' and women's sports.

"I want to protect young girls in the locker room, or young girls in sports who don't have to deal with biological males," Cunningham said earlier this year.

"Protecting children is really important, and it's the little girls who are involved in this category."

Cunningham's jersey is listed as one of the best-selling jerseys and, as of press time, is the top jersey WNBA fans see on Fanatics.
