Qom Governor: School Capacity in the Province Cannot Keep Pace With Migration Wave
Qom – Qom Governor said that population growth driven by migration has made the shortage of educational space one of the province's key challenges. He stressed the need for charitable donors' participation and the use of national capacities to build new schools.
According to Mehr reporter, Akbar Behnamjoo said at the conference of Qom province school benefactors on Thursday afternoon, referring to the role of schools in educating and empowering students: "School is not only a place to teach subjects, but it is an environment for learning various skills and social and cultural development of the future generation, and special attention should be paid to this important function."
Appreciating the efforts made in the field of building schools, he added: despite the valuable actions of benefactors and officials in the field of developing educational spaces, the province's need to build new schools has not been met and the existing capacity does not meet all the educational needs of Qom.
Referring to the process of migration to this province, the governor of Qom stated: the increase in population due to migration has put additional pressure on the educational infrastructure, and the development of schools should be followed according to these conditions in order to provide students with access to a suitable educational environment.
Referring to the goals foreseen in the 7th development plan of the country, Behnamjo continued: the realization of the goals set in the field of education requires coherent planning and wider participation of responsible institutions and groups, and according to the trend of increasing educational needs, efforts to develop the infrastructure of this sector should be increased.
National participation helps the development of Qom schools
Emphasizing the necessity of using the capacities outside the province, he said: the issue of school building in Qom should not be limited only to the capacity and facilities of the provincial complexes, but it is necessary for other provinces to participate in this direction and national capacities should be used to meet the educational needs of Qom.
Referring to the proposal of holding a national school-building benefactors festival in this province, the governor of Qom added: holding this festival can provide a suitable basis for attracting the participation of benefactors from all over the country and increasing the capacity of building schools in Qom, and we hope that using this opportunity, more effective steps will be taken for the development of educational spaces.
Behnamjo also appreciated the efforts of the officials and those involved in the field of school construction and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between executive groups, benefactors and activists in this field to respond to the educational needs of the province.
Conservatories need equipment and facilities
Referring to the measures taken for the development of skill training centers, he noted: In addition to building educational spaces, it is also important to pay attention to the provision of equipment needed by conservatories so that students can learn specialized skills in a suitable environment.
The Governor of Qom, appreciating the announcement of the readiness of the related collections to provide equipment for the conservatory, emphasized the necessity of accompanying benefactors and responsible institutions in completing the educational facilities and considered the simultaneous development of educational spaces and skill equipment as one of the needs of this field.
