Russia's Harvest This Year Lower Than Previous Years – PM
Mikhail Mishustin noted that the harvest yield will make it possible to satisfy domestic demand and provide a surplus of certain food products.
Moscow, October 15. /TASS/. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the cabinet meeting that the harvesting campaign in Russia is over and the yield will not be lower than in previous years.
The prime minister said: "The harvesting campaign has been completed in more than 90 percent of the cultivated area. It is now seen that the harvest will not be less than in previous years."
Mishustin noted: the harvested yield allows the domestic demand to be satisfied even with a surplus of certain food items.
Russia currently has a stable position in the agricultural sector. The prime minister added that this was made possible largely because of the systemic work that had been put in place, including the operational mechanism of grain procurement and commodity interventions.
