This historical building, which belongs to the founder of the Saffarian dynasty, is located in the vicinity of the ruins of the city and the Jandi Shapur Fort as one of the most important historical sites in Iran.

Yaqub Zalqi, director of the Jundi Shapur National Base and Historical Site, emphasized on the organization and restoration of the tomb of Yaqub Leith Safari and the funds allocated to this historical work, and added: Considering the national funds that were allocated to Khuzestan province for the purpose of organizing and restoring the tomb of Yaqub Leith Safari, basic measures to restore the tomb of Yaqub Leith were put on the agenda.

The manager of Jundi Shapur National Base and Ivan Karkheh explained the restoration measures taken in the tomb of Yaqub Laith Safari and continued: Excavation, exploration and restoration were among the programs of Jundi Shapur National Base that we were struggling with in the past years. Currently, these measures have been carried out after many years, and other parts of it are currently being carried out.

He added: Repairing the inner and outer dome of the tomb was one of the activities that should have been done before the rainy season. Therefore, after many years of excavation and exploration in the tomb of Yaqub Leith Safari has started. On the one hand, we started the restoration of the inner and outer dome of the mausoleum, and the restoration of the roof bricks and brick pavement is one of the activities that we have been struggling with in the past years.

He said: Currently, the thatch on the roof has been completed, and since Yaqub Leith's mausoleum has two domes, it actually has two domes. We restored both the interior of the dome, which is hollow, and the dome, which has two shells and is on the roof, and you can go through the roof to enter the dome, both the inner and outer walls of the dome, which was a very big task, and we have been waiting to do this for years, and with the support of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, we were able to achieve this great goal.

Zalghi added: We will also restore the interior and exterior of the mausoleum wherever we feel it needs restoration. Currently, the interior facade, whose white parts were destroyed and needed repairs, and other cases, the restoration of the interior of the dome has also started.

Referring to the measures taken to restore Yaqoob Laith Safari's tomb, the director of Jundi Shapur and Ivan Karkheh National Base said: thatching and protective measures are being carried out on the trenches of archaeological excavations.

He added: Since the issue of rains is discussed, the current priority is to protect the dome of the tomb, which is being done.

According to Yaqub Zalqi, 7 billion Tomans have been allocated for the restoration of Yaqub Leith Safari's tomb.

The director of the national base, Jundi Shapour and Ivan Karkhe, added: "What is happening now in the tomb of Yaqub Leith Safari is a very big action. Because both the damages of this building will be fixed and the protective measures of the archaeological excavation trenches will be carried out.

He said: We have followed up on many issues that have been raised about this building in recent years, and a proper process has been started with respect to the preservation and status of this heritage work.

According to Zalghi, the allocation of the restoration credits of the tomb of Yaqub Laith Safari led to the formation of a reasonable process in preserving the landscape of the building and the basic principles of protection and restoration of this historical work, which continues, and the brick pavement and slope and restoration of the stairs inside the premises and the building are also carried out.
