Ardabil - The governor of Ardabil, emphasizing the formation of a working group centered on the General Welfare Department, said: The legal rights of the blind and partially sighted community should be provided to them according to the law.
According to Mehr reporter, Farzad Qalandari said at the World White Cane Day commemoration ceremony in Ardabil on Saturday afternoon: A working group will be formed centered on the General Directorate of Welfare, and I am also serving the blind community in Ardabil city.
He stated that what is the legal rights of the loved ones and what they are demanding should be given to them based on the law, adding: We are committed to fulfilling these duties.
Pointing out that today's discussion is not the only image of the blind and partially sighted society, the governor of Ardabil clarified: We must talk about one of the most important indicators of human development, which is equal access for all loved ones.
Qalandari considered the white cane to be a universal symbol of independence, social presence and human dignity and said: This cane reminds us that every citizen has the right to live in society with security, peace and dignity, receive education, work, travel and participate in social decisions regardless of their physical conditions.
Referring to the findings of social and health researches, he said: The quality of life of visually impaired people is more affected by the obstacles that we have created in cities, offices, educational centers, and even in our own eyes.
The governor of Ardabil noted: Dear blind people teach us a great lesson every day. A lesson in self-confidence, perseverance and hope. They have proven that it is not necessary to experience seeing in order to shine; Sometimes insight, will and knowledge open up horizons that are beyond the outward view.
Qalandari went on to emphasize that in Ardabil city, we consider ourselves obliged to make the path of obtaining citizenship rights smoother for all our loved ones, and added: Necessities such as the improvement of roads, accessible smart services, the use of new technologies and shared education must be followed seriously.
He stated that in addition to social responsibility, the citizenship rights of these loved ones should not be neglected, and said: Building an inclusive society begins with our daily behaviors.
The governor of Ardabil sincerely appreciated the devoted families, teachers, educators, social activists, employees of the General Welfare Department, organizations and benefactors who stand by these loved ones with love and responsibility.
Addressing the blind community, Qalandari stated: You are not the recipient of services, but you are a part of the huge cultural, artistic and social capacity of our city, province and country.
In the end, he called for a change of views towards the blind community and said: Let's consider International White Cane Day as an opportunity to change views; From a view based on limitations to a view based on ability, from pity to respect and from mere support to participation. I thank all the dear ones who organized this program and what you demand is our duty and we have no dignity except to serve.
