According to the report of Iran's Ambassador Arjan (Ambassador Arjan), citing the public relations of the Great Islamic Encyclopedia Center, the commemoration of the 100th birthday of "Reza Seyed Hosseini", the late translator, editor and cultural writer, was held with the cooperation of Soroush Publications, on Tuesday evening, October 21, at the Great Islamic Encyclopedia Center.
A world of love for the culture of this land
At the beginning of this assembly, "Mahshid Nonhali", a veteran translator of French literature and one of Seyed Hosseini's colleagues, spoke: "In the workplace, in meetings, at home, and everywhere, he opened the way for newcomers and novices without the least restraint, and he generously transferred all the deep knowledge he had and everything he had experienced and accumulated to others. Whether in lectures or in smaller groups, he expressed literary and philosophical issues and criticism in such a simple and unpretentious language that a listener never felt confused and ashamed of not knowing how to wade through this ocean of concepts and expressions and reach the shore. Rather, the listener, no matter how poor, was eager to explore and learn the way slowly and continuously. Yes, the kindness of Reza Seyyed Hosseini was adorned with the ornament of humility.
He continued: Since I started working in the culture of works and when my presence in Soroush became more and more serious, I witnessed many times that if there was a disturbance in the work intentionally or accidentally, despite the initial annoyance, he got over the matter so simply and quickly and even did not hesitate to be nice and help the same people, that I said to myself: You must really have another passion in your head and be so full of love for knowledge and culture, or rather I should say Be so drunk with knowledge and culture that issues like this only put a little temporary dust on your face, not on your heart, and this is kind knowledge combined with piety. In my opinion, Master Samii, fully aware of Master Seyyed Hosseini's moral qualities and his tolerance, seriousness, and magnanimity, proposed him as a supervisor at the very beginning. And indeed, Mr. Seyed Hosseini sometimes faced serious issues and even unkindness in carrying out this work, which he overcame with great patience and magnanimity because he saw himself as obligated not to Soroush publications but to the culture of this country. I like to repeat whenever I talk about Professor Seyed Hosseini that he was a world of love for the culture of this land, a world of knowledge, a world of gentleness, a world of kindness, a world of depression, and with all this, a world of passion for life in the heart of knowledge and culture. And of course, when the greatest unkindness was created by the crooked times that sometimes turn upside down and leave mothers and fathers in mourning, it was the same passion and intoxication that made Master Seyyed Hosseini bend over backwards to finish the work of culture and after that he did not sit idle and founded another great work.
And then "Syed Ali Al Daoud", a member of the Supreme Scientific Council of the Center of the Great Islamic Encyclopedia and one of Seyyed Hosseini's colleagues, told the audience some memories and stories: I joined Soroush Publishing House as a member of the faculty of Iranian Islamic Culture since the beginning of 1372. From the very first days, we worked together with Shadervan Seyyed Hosseini, which then led to a deep friendship between us. In those days, the writing of culture articles had not yet started, we were first selecting entries and looking for the right author for the various titles of this book. The work of translating, editing and printing the collection of world works that was translated from French to Persian had not yet been completed and Seyyed Hosseini was busy with this work. Even though that book had a number of prestigious academic members such as Shadrovanan Ahmed Samii Gilani, Abul Hasan Najafi and Ismail Saadat, and all of them were recognized as outstanding translators and scientists, but doing all the work of choosing a translator, communicating with different translators and discussing the solution of problems that occurred during the work, as well as editing translations, correcting typographical errors, checking the latest examples and publishing permission was completely up to Ahed. It was Seyyed Hosseini, but it should not be overlooked that you always benefited from the help of Professor Ahmad Samii in the matter of editing. But others did not have much role in the culture of works and the translation of its articles, except for the late professor Saadat, who translated some articles by his pen, and yet all of these names are mentioned on the cover and on the legal page of the book as members of the faculty of the culture of world works.
He added: "After finishing the translation of this exquisite work and publishing the sixth volume, which was the last volume of the book, we suggested to the then officials of Soroush publishing house that professor Seyyed Hosseini cooperate with the culture of Iranian Islamic works in the matter of publishing six volumes of the culture of works of graduated translation. Fortunately, it was agreed and when the first volume of this work was about to be published, he joined the academic group of Iranian Islamic Art Culture.
Then Mehdi Firouzan, the former CEO of Soroush Publishing, spoke and said: When I came to Soroush, I sat on the chair where Seyyed Hosseini was sitting. It took a year to change Soroush's path, but I could see his footprints everywhere. I told Musa Eswar, who helped a lot, that we should form a council. One day, I told Mahshid Moshiri, who was the head of the workshop, how to find Seyed Hosseini. He said that he is staying at home and at the peak of disbelief he came to the book fair in 1364 and I saw him for the first time. I invited him to dinner there and he accepted immediately. He had angry eyebrows, a kind heart but was cautious. Coincidentally, my son Abbas and his grandson Siavash became schoolmates, and this bond, which started with literary schools, became emotional and family, and of course, it reached its peak with the culture of works, which was his dream.
The last speaker, "Ahmed Masjid Jameei", the vice-chairman of the center of the Great Islamic Encyclopaedia, said: Seyyed Hosseini is the son of suffering. He thrived in difficult social, political and even family situations. He and the generation that were in the previous century almost all came up with a special effort and a kind of dedication and companionship with the culture, and because they were children of suffering, there was humility in their nature and they worked for groups that were fruitful. He also belonged to the same tribe and was of the same gender.
At the end of this program, a documentary film made by Mehrdad Dafari was shown.
