"The View" co-hosts discussed former Vice President Kamala Harris' prospects in 2028, and Sarah Hines noted the public's preference for newer Democratic candidates.

'The View' hosts debate on whether Kamala Harris is a good candidate for 2028

Sarah Hines was one of several "The View" hosts to question whether former Vice President Kamala Harris would be a viable contender for the 2028 presidential election.

Several hosts of the "Nama" program on Friday expressed doubts about the candidacy of former vice president Kamala Harris for the presidency in 2028.

During an interview on Keke Palmer's podcast on Tuesday, Harris was asked if he was considering running for president in 2028. Harris laughed and said he hadn't decided yet.

However, some co-hosts of "The View" urged the Democratic Party to look for another challenger. "Let's be real," co-host Anna Navarro said, noting that she spoke with Harris about the number of women who were upset by the fact that both she and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump.

When asked if a black woman could be elected president, guest host Raven Simon replied, "Not in America. In the days after Joe Biden dropped out in 2024, online platforms saw a 525 percent increase in racist content targeting Kamala and a 2,328 percent increase in misogynistic content."

The co-hosts of "The View" debated whether former Vice President Kamala Harris would not be the Democratic Party's best choice for 2028.

"We're not as progressive as we think we are, United States," added Raven Simon. "There are other countries that do it much better when it comes to women in office. You have to find the blank, period."

"If the Democrats want to win, I don't think he's the right candidate," Sarah Hines said. "Because the Democrats are clamoring for new energy, they need something new to fight it. It's the third time he's missed the ballot since the first time — he dropped out early on the ballot, and then with Biden, it's the third time.

“People are clamoring for fresh energy and there are so many candidates — Pete Buttigieg, Mark Kelly, [Josh] Shapiro, Wes Moore. "They're moderate, moderate Democrats, and I think they can sweep."

Joy Behar doubles the argument that we do not elect a female president

For Harris in 2028, the challenge is that the candidates who have successfully run three times—Reagan, Trump—were ideologically consistent and the country came to them. Harris has been inconsistent and has created an authenticity problem."

“So you have to look at the current dynamic of the Democratic Party — the angry, demanding fight. "Harris has been MIA for the past two years, which is consistent with his history of caution and indecisiveness."

"Ultimately, if Harris is nominated, he will have to contend with an establishment and media that are very cynical and likely looking to attack," he added. "There are many reasons to question his chances but, if he is nominated, he will be a serious candidate in the primary, and if he wins the primary, he will start the general with a decent chance in this deeply divided country."
