Duhok Objects to Golmohammadi Joining Iran U-23 Team
Duhok FC's acting head rules out possible departure of the club's Iranian head coach.
The head of the Dohok Iraqi football team denied the possibility of the departure of the Iranian head coach of this team.
According to Ambassador Arjan, in recent weeks there were rumors about the professional future of Yahya Golmohammadi and it was said that the lack of favorable results of the Dohok football team in the current season made the managers of this Iraqi club think of ending cooperation with their Iranian coach, although the managers of this club denied this news every time.
Last week, Dohuk's 3-0 win against Al-Zura, which is one of the contenders for the Iraqi Stars League, made Golmohammadi's foothold in this team stronger. In recent days, however, the Iranian Football Federation announced that Yahya Golmohammadi is one of the options for the head coach of Iran's Omid football team, which was accompanied by the reaction of one of the managers of the Iraqi Dohuk club.
Jassim Haji, head of the Dohok team, in an interview with the "Al-Rabi'a Al-Riyazia" TV channel, emphasizing that Gulmohammadi will remain in this team and denying that he is close to leading the Omid Iran team, said: "There is no clause in Yahya's contract that allows him to leave the Dohok team if he receives an offer to lead one of Iran's national teams, without the prior approval of the club's management." Golmohammadi has a contract with Dohuk until the end of this season, and the club's management is considering extending his contract for another season.
Duhok football team, which won 2 wins, 6 draws and 1 loss from its first 9 games in the Qatar Star League, is currently in seventh place with 12 points in the 20-team table and is 11 points ahead of Al-Karma.
