Commander of Lorestan Corps: Completing dams in the province requires national recognition

Khorramabad- Commander of Hazrat Abulfazl Lorestan Army said: completion of dams in this province requires national credit.

According to Mehr reporter, Sardar Nematullah Bagheri, this Saturday morning, during the opening ceremony of the webinar of 117 water supply projects to Lorestan villages in the presence of the Minister of Energy, said: With the special attention of the Governor of Lorestan to the field of rural water supply and the efforts of Imam Hassan Mojtabi (a.s.) camp and the provincial water and sewage company, Lorestan has won the first rank in the country in the field of water supply to villages.

He added: Despite credit problems in war conditions, the implementation of service projects in Lorestan has continued and service to the people has not been stopped under any circumstances.

117 villages benefit from sustainable water this year

Commander of Hazrat Abulfazl (AS) Lorestan Corps, appreciating the cooperation of the Ministry of Energy in the implementation of water supply projects, said: Last year, 200 villages were supplied with water in the province, and this year, despite the war conditions, 117 villages benefited from stable water.

Referring to the cooperation of related institutions in the implementation of these plans, Bagheri considered the realization of the government's service approach and people's participation in the advancement of construction plans as the results of these measures.

Lack of completed dams, the challenge of Lorestan irrigated agriculture development

Referring to the state of water resources and rainfall in the province, he stated: Lorestan's water resources and its overflow support important dams such as Karkheh, Dez and Simreh in the country; However, due to the lack of construction and completion of required dams in the province, the level of irrigated agriculture in Lorestan has reached half of the national average.

The commander of the Lorestan Army Corps stated that the process of building dams in the province has accelerated since the arrival of engineer Shahrokhi, adding that despite the governor's efforts to provide financial resources for these projects through methods such as buying bonds, the available credits are not enough to complete the dams and it is necessary to provide national financial resources.

Request for special credit from the Ministry of Energy to complete the dams

Bagheri stated: The completion of Lorestan dams requires a national approach and the allocation of special funds from the Ministry of Energy. Because the financial resources of the province alone are not responsible for the costs of implementing these projects.

Emphasizing the importance of completing the infrastructure of dams in the development of water resources and agriculture of the province, he demanded the special attention of the Ministry of Energy to finance and advance the dam construction projects of Lorestan.
