Pakistan Calls on Iran and US to Show Restraint

Pakistan's president urged Iran and the United States to resolve their differences through diplomacy, showing restraint and adhering to the commitments of the Islamabad understanding.

The President of Pakistan asked Iran and the US to resolve their differences through diplomacy with restraint and adherence to Islamabad's commitments.

According to Arjan's ambassador, Asif Ali Zardari, the President of Pakistan asked the US and Iran to exercise restraint and adhere to their commitments in the framework of the "Islamabad Agreement" reached last June.

According to the statement of the President of Pakistan, Zardari made these statements in a meeting with Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev in Islamabad.

In this meeting, Zardari asked Washington and Tehran to exercise restraint in order to resolve the conflicts in West Asia, fulfill their commitments based on Islamabad's understanding and resolve their differences through dialogue and diplomacy.

He also emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea and the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries.

On June 17, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding in Islamabad, according to which, the cessation of military operations and the initiation of necessary arrangements to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to shipping were foreseen.

However, the implementation of this agreement was later hampered due to the non-commitment of the United States to the agreement on how to implement it and the shipping situation in the Strait of Hormuz, and as a result, the conflicts resumed in July.
