Kremlin Comments on Russian Diesel Entering Global Markets and the Status of Assets

Dmitry Peskov stressed that the European countries' position on the Russia-US agreement on diesel is harmful.

Moscow, October 15. /TASS/. The flow of Russian diesel into world markets, the situation of assets in Europe, and Ukraine's attacks on energy facilities were the main topics of Thursday's meeting of Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Tass has collected the key statements of the Kremlin representative.

- Russian President Vladimir Putin will address today via video link the Congress of the Russian Public Organization "Russian Business".

- The remaining events in the Prime Minister's program will be private.

- Ukraine did not adhere to the suspension of strikes on energy sites: "I want to remind you of yesterday's statement of Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Novak. He said that in fact there was no suspension from Ukraine. Attacks on refineries and facilities of our energy sector continued in those days. That is why there are no new developments here."

- The intense efforts of the United States and its negotiators in the peace process are "neutralized" by Ukraine and Volodymyr Zelensky himself, because they are unwilling to pursue peace: "The Kiev regime continues its attacks against these [energy] facilities, so without a doubt, the US and the U.S. will be heavily involved in peace efforts. Forward."

- Moscow is not aware of the alleged US efforts to unblock Russian assets in Europe by takeover, according to the Financial Times, they are under their own management: "We know nothing about this matter. These are issues that are on the agenda of the dialogue between the Americans and the Europeans, as stated in the media reports."

- We do not know how reliable these reports are.

- The situation of the global energy markets is complicated and weak at the moment, which is partly due to the restrictions on the export of oil and oil products from Russia: "In fact, the energy and oil markets are currently in a precarious state at the global level. Many factors contribute to this stagnation in the energy market. Of course, this includes the inability of Russia to bring a significant amount of oil products and export its oil to the market."

- The Kremlin did not disclose the countries that, in addition to the United States, have expressed their desire to buy Russian diesel fuel. For obvious reasons, it is hardly worth discussing this in public.

- The entry of Russian diesel into the global energy markets helps to stabilize them, although it cannot completely stabilize them: "Relatively large amounts of diesel are currently being released. This diesel has begun to enter the world markets, and this will have a certain positive effect on the stabilization of oil markets. Although these needs cannot be fully taken into account."

- The position of the European countries regarding the Russian-American agreement on diesel is destructive: "We continue to see a destructive position from the European countries. Not only did they not welcome this agreement, but they were subjected to rather strong criticism - both personally by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and similar decisions of the American government."

- The European Union tries to influence the results of Russian athletes by not allowing them to participate in international competitions: "Here we can see the attempt of some countries to influence the results of the competitions by deliberately excluding the strongest athletes from the competitions."
