India seeks to exchange experience in water and power services with Russia
These issues were discussed at the trade forum "Safir Arjan: Russia-India. Mutual efficiency".
Kazan, October 16. /dice/. India's consul general in Kazan, Jaysundar Deviprasad, speaking at the business forum "Ambassador Arjan: Russia-India. Mutual Efficiency" in Kazan, said that India is interested in exchanging experience in providing municipal services in big cities with Russia.
He said at a meeting titled "Russia-India: From Municipal Dialogue to Joint Tourism Projects", "India offers its own approach to providing water and electricity services on a scale that is much or even ten times greater than Kazan. Such cooperation will be beneficial to both parties, because each of them will contribute and can teach something useful to the other and share their experience."
Consul General noted: Both sides have something to learn from each other. "Kazan and other Russian cities [boast] reliability, independence from harsh weather conditions, especially in winter, when temperatures drop to -30, uninterrupted hot water and gas supply, and regular maintenance, including waste disposal and waste management," he explained.
According to him, the challenges facing cities are global. "These primarily include critical infrastructure for people: water and fuel sources. The other part [involving] the removal of solid and liquid waste is much more challenging. These problems are common not only in India and Russia, but all over the world," he stressed.
Kazan will host the second trade forum "Ambassador of Arjan: Russia-India. Cross-functionality" on October 14-17 in the unique handicraft center. This business program includes sessions on key topics such as investment and innovation, logistics, industrial production, international cooperation, social environment, education, agriculture, medicine, business, media, culture, sports and tourism. Other participants include officials from the federal government of India and representatives of Indian administrative departments. The Indian ambassador is also present in Russia.
